Steamboat Springs Colorado Volunteer

There are many opportunities to volunteer at the Park. Many people come to spend a few restful hours pulling weeds and meeting friends. Others take the opportunity to work in groups creating new gardens, as you can see in the picture above. A few choose to take on a specific garden and come down on a weekly basis to see that it stays up to their standards.

Some of the gardens in the Park are maintained by one or more people working on their own. They are responsible for planting, pruning, soil improvements, etc.

Steamboat Springs get involved

We have established a program to offer tours of the Park, and would be interested in talking with people who might want to be involved.

Yampa River Botanic Park Social Gardening

Several years ago we added the amphitheater to handle programs in the Park. It is mainly designed for children's programs, but there is no reason why it can't handle adults too.

For those who don't particularly want to dig in the soil but want to contribute in some way, there are several kinds of opportunities. We try to keep the resources of Trillium House open on a regular basis for those who want to use the materials on our shelves. To do so we need volunteers to oversee the facilities and talk to visitors who have questions about the Park or need to identify plants. We also need volunteers for Music on the Green and other programs.

We have established a program in conjunction with the Denver Botanic Gardens to locate and identify plants that are endangered in Colorado.

If you have other ideas of ways in which you would like to help the Park, just let us know. We would be interested in working with you.
